Debra began her career as a Software Engineer at Institute for Information Industry (III) in Taiwan before emigrating to the U.S., where she finished her Master's degree and then worked as a Program Manager for a training company in California. In 1998, as Business Development Manager for InfoWave Communications (Santa Clara, CA), she took charge of InfoWave's Career Center, gathering 6,000 China-related resumes, developing an Internet-based Education Center, and leading a sales team of five for this Web-oriented, China-focused consulting firm.
Debra began her recruiting career in 1999 with Wintech Software Corp., Sunnyvale, filling software contract and permanent positions for many Fortune 500 as well as startup companies. Among them, NetScreen was her major account who went public in 2001. Being attracted to executive search in Greater China market, Debra joined Hall Kinion Asia Pacific to focus on international recruiting in June 2000.
Prior to founding CJ International in 2003, Debra was Manager, Greater China based in San Jose and Shanghai with Hall Kinion Asia Pacific. Prior to that, she held several senior business development and recruiting positions with Hall Kinion and Heidrick & Struggles Singapore from 2000 to 2003. She was a top performer and had won numerous awards. Debra's focus is the high-tech industries, namely semiconductor, telecommunication and IT. She has successfully developed and managed a number of executive-level and professional assignments in Taiwan, China, Singapore and the US.
Since the inception of CJ International in 2003, it has become the most productive and reliable service provider in the North America in helping high-tech companies fill key positions which require significant Chinese and U.S. background. CJ’s clients include Fortune 500 companies such as Cisco and Intel, and world-leading, Greater China-based companies such as Foxconn and Alibaba, as well as many medium or fast-growing startup companies.
While not working Debra is actively participating in community services. She served the Board of Director with Taiwanese Americans Industry and Technology Association (TAITA) from 2007 to 2009, and responsible for corporate sponsorships/relations; and the Board of the North America Taiwanese Engineers' Association (NATEA) from 1999 to 2002. Debra is also an active member of many professional as well as non-profit organizations in the Silicon Valley. She has been invited as a speaker and panelist for several career seminars hosted by professional and alumni associations including CASPA, Stanford University, National Chiao-Tung University, National Cheng-Kung University, etc.
Debra has a B.A. degree in English Literature from National Central University, Taiwan, and a Master’s in Adult Education and Human Resource Development from University of Texas at Austin.
Iris Wang - Principal
Iris Wang joined CJ International as a Recruiting Manager in 2005. She brought to CJ more than twenty years of executive and professional experience in human resources management, corporate education and training, as well as business and organization development in public and private sectors. Prior to joining CJ International, Iris Wang was the Human Resources Director of Broadmedia, Inc., a semiconductor and VoIP technology company in Silicon Valley (2000-2004), and the Corporate Training Program Manager of Mission College in Santa Clara (1997-2000).
In her role of the Human Resources Director at the Broadmedia, Inc., Iris Wang had a critical leadership position for the Company's administrative operation including recruiting, performance management, employee relations, organizational development, and corporate merging and restructuring facilitation. She worked seamlessly with the Company's CEO and executive team to have accomplished numerous business goals. Besides, in her position as the Corporate Training Manager of Mission College, Iris Wang had extensive experience assisting executive, technical and human resources mangers in Silicon Valley to implement professional development (corporate training) programs at their workplace. She was the major contributor to launch the Mission College's Corporate Training Program for small and medium sized manufacturing companies in Silicon Valley 1997 through 2000.
In addition to her versatile expertise in the human resources field, Iris Wang was also a seasoned nonprofit executive in the San Francisco Bay Area. She was the Executive Director or Vision New America, Inc. (San Jose), Deputy Executive Director of Crosscultural Community Services Center (San Jose), Charity Cultural Services Center (San Francisco), and currently serves on the Board of Directors or the Advisory Board of these organizations. A highlight of her community development work was the six-year Governor's (Governor Pete Wilson) appointment at the California State Job Training Coordinating Council (SJTCC) 1994 through 1999. She was actively involved in the policy planning, review and implementation plan generation for the Senate Bill (SB) 645, which was instrumental for the enhancement of the California workforce's competitiveness. Iris Wang was the "token" (only) Asian American Member of SJTCC throughout her six years of service on the Council.
Iris Wang currently takes charge of the recruit for various management positions of the Foxconn Technology Group (Hon Hai Technology Group) and Foxconn International Co., (FIH), one of the anchor clients of CJ International. She has a M.A. in English from San Francisco State University and is bilingual in English and Chinese.
